(2 Peter 1:21). We do, however, share these common beliefs with other evangelical Christians:
- God, who is Creator and Lord, has personal interest in each of us (2 Peter 3:9).
- Humanity has rebelled against God. Taking their own way, they have fallen into troubles and sin. They cannot make themselves good, or earn God's approval (Titus 3:5; Isaiah 64:6).
- God cares for us, and has an exciting plan for our lives (John 3:16, 10:10, 15:11)
- Our rebellion separates us from God so we cannot enjoy His love, or know His plan for our lives (Romans 3:23; 6:23).
- Jesus Christ came to earth to bring us back into fellowship with God. Through His death and resurrection, He brought a cure for our sins (Romans 5:8, Corinthians 15:3-6; John 14:6).
- To enjoy God's love, and to know His plan, we must personally receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9).
- Jesus will personally and visibly return from heaven (Acts 1:11).
- The Holy Spirit indwells the believer and serves as Comforter and Guide (John 14:16-17, 26).
- The Church is God's vehicle of ministry today (Hebrews 10:25).
